Smithy’s 2024 VFL Team of the Year Squad

The 40-player squad that will be competing for selection in the 2024 Smithy’s VFL Team of the Year has been announced.

The final team of 24 players will be announced on Monday, September 16 at the 2024 VFL and VFLW Awards. A captain and coach will also be selected.

Premier Minor Werribee has the most players on Smithy’s VFL Team of the Year 2024 roster, with six players selected. Southport Sharks (four) and Frankston (three) are the only other clubs to have more than two players on the roster.

The full squad for the club was as follows: Box Hill Hawks (two), Brisbane Lions (two), Carlton (two), Casey Demons (one), Coburg (one), Collingwood (one), Essendon (two), Footscray Bulldogs (one), Frankston (three), Geelong Cats (two), Gold Coast Suns (two), GWS Giants (one), North Melbourne (two), Northern Bullants (one), Port Melbourne (two), Richmond (two), Sandringham (nil), Southport Sharks (four), Sydney Swans (one), Werribee (six) and Williamstown (two).

To be considered for selection in the 2024 Smithy’s VFL Team of the Year, players must have played at least nine home and away matches.

Qualified players from the AFL list are eligible to be selected.
