BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — A new school could be coming to the Leland neighborhood in Brunswick County.

At the Brunswick County Board of Education meeting held on Tuesday, September 3, the Board approved the purchase of land at Jackey’s Creek near the Brunswick Forest area.

The price per acre for the 64-acre property will be approximately $95,000.

The site will serve as home to a future 750-student elementary school. It will address capacity issues at Lincoln Elementary School, Belville Elementary School and Town Creek Elementary School.

Brunswick County Schools plans to open a new school in the 2028 school year.
