Firefighters were called to a fire that reportedly gutted a shed in Sandy Bay this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Mawhera Street just after 12.30pm on Thursday.

A Tasmania Fire Service spokesman said the fire had spread to a shed and hedge surrounding the property.
